I’m getting so close to master league but my games disconnect (sometimes in the crucial third streak battle) and through no fault of my own I am losing credits! I’m on WiFi and full bars and have been playing for hours with no problems - so it must be the other player. How is that fair?

You mention you play on WiFi, sometimes WiFi, regardless of strength can be very sensitive to interruption, even briefly so it's best to make sure you have no other apps running in the background that could interfere. Alternatively, try playing with cellular data. Hope this helps! Please let me know if it becomes consistent.
