Menu buttons do not function- Origin Red Alert 2

Hey,

I recently downloaded Red Alert 2 from Origin/ EA Games. I can login and click the buttons in the main menu however none of the following  menu buttons work. For example I can make a map but in order to save it I have to press ENTER in the name box. Whether I win or lose a match , I cannot continue onto the next page from the Final tally page (build, kills, loses, etc.) I can leave a match without issue, all of the buttons (save, resume, quit, etc.) Can be clicked. It seems like the problem is the Map menu and the Victory 'continue' button. I have disabled Origin in Game. I'm not sure why this happened since the installation went well. Any advice would be great.

    @COLLEGIATEMISFIT I've heard issues regarding misaligned buttons / button click areas before. If I remember correctly it happened on certain screen resolutions. What screen resolution are you running the game in?

    Hi,

    I believe that the resolution is 2560 × 1600. I have a Mac and so I use a wine wrapper.

    @COLLEGIATEMISFIT

    Well, that is pretty ridiculously large for running RA2... I mean, do keep in mind the game was originally designed for 800x600. I mean, not saying you can't play it on anything larger, but 2560x1600 is pretty freaking big; almost nine times the surface area of the original. Unless you're projecting that on a wall, your units are gonna be so tiny ingame...

    Anyway, as far as I've seen, the most likely cause for that problem is desktop display scaling. No idea how you'd handle that stuff if you're using Wine on mac though; you might want to google around for that yourself.
