New commander type
I have an idea for 2 new commanders, one on each side. Before I explain it, there are 4 types of commanders, defensive (Lt. Strongarm, Kane), Offensive (Jade, Gen. Solomon), miscellaneous (Dr. Liang, Seth) and Support (Col. Jackson, Oxanna). A new type of commander I thought of has distractive purposes. Their ability is meant to distract nearby enemy units, causing them to lose their defender's advantage when attacked.
First, for GDI's. GDi's new commander is Private Beat-boxer (can't think of a better name). She doesn't have an ability other than the fact that if you choose her as your commander and have shockwave troopers in your deck, those troopers are automatically replaced by beat-box troopers. They are exclusive to her only and no other commander can use those beat-box troopers. They have a slightly lower DPS compared to regular shockwave troopers. Be forewarned however, as these units are meant to slow down the offensive of an enemy! A beat-box trooper has a passive ability that affects enemy units within a 3 tile range of it even though its vision is only 2 tiles. That's the same vision range for riflemen, wardogs etc. Enemy units will 'dance' if they're within range of the trooper, causing them to lose the defender's advantage when attacking, making it possible for a missile squad to destroy a rhino as the rhino is distracted for a second or two before firing. Units that are not affected are ones that are mechanical in nature, e.g. scarabs, cyber wheels, war dogs and any other units that have no driver.
Nod's distractive commander is more nefarious than simple dancing. Nod's new commander is Pirate Itch-beard (can't think of a better name, but it must related to unbearable itches). He is an ingenious plan to simplify the scarabs and have them come en mass. They are not simply by 3's, 5's or 10's. They come in 50's. Rather than 2 1 meter long scary mechanical exploding beetles, he made them 1 centimeter small, horrifying itchy nightmares. These are released on an enemy unit in the same way a catalyst missile is launched. The missile contains these nightmarish 1 centimeter robotic beetles and are scattered overhead on the enemy unit. Those beetles are designed to make a person itch terribly, causing them to lose the defender's advantage. What's worse is that the infested unit would pass it to other units, from the same side or not. Those units that get the itch won't pass it, however. Certain units react differently, regular scarabs explode, war dogs and cyber wheels are unaffected, and soldiers on the ground are affected. Even drivers inside their tanks aren't safe.
These commanders are designed in such a way that it would make it harder for an opponent to win the fight, perfect for trying to force ties/victories or when your army is under-leveled compared to his.
