On the house - C&C Red Alert 2 on Windows 10 screen issues

Hi,

I've installed the Free version of Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 on my Windows 10 machine.

The screens load fine etc and the game begins however if something on my pc happens and it switches windows when I come back to the game there is no screen showing - the music does play though. I can't do anything except use task manager and end the game, then restart.

Is there anything I can do to stop this happening?

The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve the "black screen" issue for many people.

Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and the game should work.
