I had this same problem. I was able to fix it.

Windows 10 Defender has protected folders.

You can open:

Control Panel > Virus & Threat protection > Ransomware Protection > Allow an app through controlled folder access.

Inside, click the + Add an allowed app, select recently blocked apps and add ClientG.exe.

It should have your under your CnCRemastered file path listed along with the application, in-case you're unsure about which application to add.
