Maybe instead of having just crates you could have other kinds of rewards. At this point, I'm hurting for credits more than unit cards. Having a few tiers reward more credits rather than a crate would be nice at the higher end.

Another idea would be to have guaranteed drops for new units at a certain tier. For example, have the laser drone cards drop as one of the rewards since they were released last season.
