Did Ford continue selling Pintos after they learned the gas tanks exploded? I understand these are old games but EA continues to sell them in the days of Windows 10 so they are purporting them to work. I've tried the fixes but they didn't work. I bought these games directly from Origin long after these problems started. It's admirable that some of EA's customers have hacked out some fixes but they haven't worked for me and I don't know why I should have to repair a product I bought new. I can't imagine any other industry or seller would sell a defective product and expect me to repair it. EA, in these forums, is referring its customers to fixes its customers have devised so they clearly know they are selling a defective product and they clearly believe the defects can be repaired. Given EA's knowledge and belief, do you happen to know why EA won't just issue a patch for this product?

Because, honestly, fans have dug into these things much deeper than the EA support team has a budget for, and nothing they do at this point can get close to the fan patches anyway.
Do note, I'm not EA. I'm just a volunteer. In fact, I made one of these fan-patches.
So, what specific problems do you have, then, and on which games? Can't help unless you're a bit more specific than "I've tried the fixes but they didn't work".
Also, do note, the oldest three games are freeware, so for those, you don't need to buy anything, and they're only included in the Origin pack for completeness' sake. Because you can hardly release an Ultimate Collection and not include them.
They still work on Windows 10 even without Fan Patches
No such luck here. Clicking Play for Generals and Zero Hour does nothing on Win 10. None of the previously suggested compatibility changes or rewriting the options.ini content did anything. The Ultimate Collection launcher does nothing as well.
- mrtnptrs6 years agoSeasoned Ace@Randomjizzer This is caused by a recent bug in Origin that causes all the CNC games to refuse to launch on some Windows-configurations. This workaround should fix your problem till the Origin-team fixes the underlying issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/C-C-The-Ultimate-Collection/Can-t-launch-C-amp-C-The-Ultimate-Collection-games-after-24-01/m-p/8716040#M17504 Does this fix your issue?
- @mrtnptrs Thanks! That one worked!

- Nyerguds5 years agoHero+@MonkeyDalitis I'm not sure what you're referring to. The Origin versions of C&C3/KW come pre-patched on the latest version.
