@dcom67 Hi, thanks for your suggestions. Removing the .ini file was a new one on me, and I tried that, leaving the other three file types in place. Still no dice. Setting it to single player also hasn't worked; I checked in Mission select and (just 'cause) skirmish again. I've stumbled upon an entirely different solution, as per my above message to Nyerguds, so I'm happy to call it here - though if you want, I'll carry on answering Qs and trying things if it'll help solve the puzzle.
