@rijnotje All games come fully pre-patched in the Origin version. Are you sure you're talking about Red Alert 2, and not Yuri's Revenge? Because Yuri's Revenge's latest version is only 1.001.

A lot of "version mismatch" errors are solved simply by making sure to run the games in administrator mode, with the right compatibility mode (Windows XP SP3)

If you're trying to play over LAN, and have installed the network fix file to do so, you might also encounter an issue where the game tells you both games have the same serial. The solution for that has been posted here:

The main problem is that the serial of the game is the same with the serial as with a buddy of mine. We can't play against each other, because of the serial. We can't find a serial key number in REGEDIT.EXE where we can change this serial number.
Can you tell me where I can find the serial to change it and to play LAN against each other? Or is there an other way to play against each other with the same serial?

@rijnotje You could try, uh, clicking the link I posted, and reading the rest of the thread, too. It's exactly about that issue, and it explains it all quite clearly.
