Command & Conquer Renegade is one of the many, many games affected by the fact Microsoft disabled the internal system used by the CD protection systems Safedisc and SecuRom.
Basically, the only ways around it are either reactivating the disabled driver somehow (on Win7/Win8 this is just uninstalling the Windows update that disabled it), or using a no-cd crack on the installed game. I suggest you google around a bit; it's a very common issue.
