Re: step by step to install command and conquer 17 unlimited collection
The game is only a digital download 😉
Which operating system are you on? You might need some extra fixes on Windows 8. Also, if you have problems after installation, please check the sticky threads at the top of this forum to solve any specific problems you may have. Specifically, check the "Common Problems" and "How to run older Command & Conquer titles on Windows 8.1" topics.
Anyway:
-Download and install the Origin client
-in the menu of the Origin client, there's an option called "redeem product code" or something like that. Insert your game key in there.
-Go to your games library in the Origin client, and make sure to put it on "all owned games" rather than "installed games". You should now see the C&C games show up in there.
-You should now be able to click on the games (might need a double-click? Not sure) to install them.
-Right-click on each of the games after install, open its properties, and disable the "Origin In Game" feature; the C&C games seem to have problems with it.
For the three earliest games, namely "Command & Conquer + the Covert Ops", "Red Alert 1" and "Tiberian Sun", I don't advice using the Origin versions at all, though; the games are freeware, and the fan-made installers for them come with extra patches and compatibility fixes... and no Origin mess.
