Honestly, if you have problems with such a diverse set of games, there may be something wrong with your PC itself... RA2 and TS use DDraw as graphics system, but on C&C1 and RA1 the patches switch that to a different one, usually OpenGL.
For C&C1 and RA1 you could try tweaking the settings in ddraw.ini and setting the renderer to GDI instead; maybe that'll help?
@Nyerguds
i dont know how to alter .ini files properly last time i tried the game i did that on broke entirely. if i were to alter the .ini file id need a fairly simplified step by step procedure as im not terribly good with tech-talk and id probably alter the wrong thing

Ehh. It's a text file. Double click to open it in notepad.
ini format itself is ridiculously simple; it's a collection of "key=value". You leave the key name, you change the value. Lines starting with ';' are comments and will be ignored by the reading system.
The comments inside the file itself should explain how to modify things inside it correctly. As far as I know, you just find a line saying "renderer=opengl" or something, and change the value behind the = to "gdi".
