Red Alert 2 and Windows 10

Ok, so I've searched the forums, I've tried the fixes for online through cncnet and running in compatibility mode with adjusted game files suggested on another site...no dice. Now it crashes without even opening.

I'm absolutely heartbroken by this because RA2 is my all time favourite game and the ultimate collection was a valentine's day gift from my husband..

Is there anything else that I can do to try and get this game working? I need my fix of Einstein, Tanya and beating up Yuri. Hell, I'd even pay for EA to stick a developer on it to just get it to W10 compatible.

sigh...

    The graphics system patch DDWrapper is known to solve a bunch of problems for this game. Dunno if you tried that... you didn't specify exactly which fixes you tried.

    Download the zip file and extract "ddraw.dll" and "aqrit.cfg" into your game folder. Then, open the configuration file "aqrit.cfg" in Notepad, change the "ForceDirectDrawEmulation" option to 1, save the file, and start the game.

    If that doesn't help, I advise you go to the forum of CnCNet; there's a pretty active community there.
