Red Alert 2 will not start on Win7 64 bit (C&C Ultimate Collection)

Edit: - I have posted this again in the C&C section - apologies to admins for doubling-up. I can see this question has been asked before but nothing works for me when trying to start RA2 on Win7 64b...

For Red Alert, please go to the Origin Games section then into the RA folder, then choose to run the game in Windows XP SP3 Compatibility mode.

Also try disabling the Origin in-game overlay. To do this, click "Origin" in the top left of the client, then Application Settings. Then open the Origin In Game tab and untick the box.

    Unfortunately this has not worked, with the same 'string error' message as soon as I pick RA2 from the launcher.😕mileysad:
