Red Alert 3 - online issue

Hi,

I have posted this on commandandconquer.com and emailed EA direct but still no solution.

I purchased the ultimate collection through Origin as a digital download.  The game works fine, can play missions, skimish and network with computers on my LAN.  My issue come when i try and play online I get the following error.

'registry is corrupt and has been altered.'

It accept my login details and is about to load the lobby when i get the above error.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Craig

Which game? If it's Red Alert 3 then I might have a solution for you:

    1. Open your Registry Editor - You can do this simply by pressing the start button, type "regedit" and press enter
    2. Navigate through NKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Wow6432Node / Electronic Arts / Electronic Arts
    3. There should be a Red Alert 3 folder in there with a subfolder called ergc - Go into that folder - Attention, there also is a red alert 3 folder under just once Electronic Arts instead of Electronic Arts / Electronic Arts. This folder will not have a subfolder!
    4. The ergc folder should contain a (Default) value of the type REG_SZ with the DATA of your serial key without any - between the blocks
    5. If that's not the case, right click, new / string value, enter as name (Default) and as data your serial code without any - or space.

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

Yes it is Red Alert 3.

I have gone into the registry and located the folder.

Under the Red Alert 3 folder i do not have a subfolder called ERGC, however under Red Alert 3 - Uprising I do have the ERGC folder with the default REG_SZ

When you download from origin, it downloads Red Alert 3 and uprising together.  Should i try and put my product code for Red Alert 3 in the ERGC folder under Red Alert 3 - Uprising.

    Thanks

    You little genesis

I created the ERGC folder under Red Alert 3 and pasted the product code in there.

Tested and was able to get online.

    Thank you so much.

I went to the Red Alert folder in Program files and put in a text file in the EGRC folder I made. ( I might have spelled EGRC wrong on this but I didn't in the folder I made). Is that what Im supposed to do? Please Help and thank in advance.

  • had the same issue but just figured it out🙂 i did the drop thing to see the regeristy editor thing however when i scrolled down under Electronic Arts i had Red Alert 3, Red Alert 3 uprising, and this weird one it was Red Alert 3]. this file had my serial code inside being the idiot i am i though it was the correct placement for the serial code for the game lol.  all i did was go to the drop file that read "red alert 3" and made a new key file put my seriel code in the "Red Alert 3" file however i still kept the "Red Alert 3]" so it does no harm if u try this.🙂 ill check this soon and message me if u dont know. 😉 good luck time to go to bed -_-zzzzz good luck
