Rhino vs Talon
I often see people using talons. Tell me why the talon is better? In my numerous resets, I have tried both but always go back to the rhino because in the early game, it’s harder to get the talon ...
Rhino deals with infantry better.
Talon is better against air.
But talon also cannot be blocked by ground units and is faster than rhino. That are the reasons why people use talon more.
I personally have rhino instead of talon in my standard deck at the moment. If I need strong anti-air a talon is not enough for me, so I run hammerhead. And rhino takes down infantry better than talon. Surprisingly, it even does well against air, like drones, talon or even banshee (2v1).
So it's really up to you what you use. Generally, rhino is stronger (more HP and damage), but a talon is more maneuverable (faster and airborne), and in this game repositioning fast is very important.
I think for me, rhino makes more sense. The only time I would use either is against infantry and drones early in the game when opponents put shockwaves or flames or drones on the pads for the first missile. If I use a talon, I can’t have a pitbull right away. I have to wait to get more money to open up the war factory.
If I open up the war factory because bikes are coming at me along with infantry in the beginning of the game, I have nothing for the flames or shockwaves. I have to wait.
I think a talon is great however if you never use a pitbull early in the game.

I'd say rhino, but MG nests and scarabs can become a problem. I would want the talon to receive a slight buff so it can easily clear missile squads. Talons can just fly into them and the units are gone. Also rocks and water block ground units. There should be tiles that would block air units but not ground units. I would suggest a windy tile that prevents air units from flying through. Air units would default to moving around the tile, but if the unit is forced to cross the tile, the unit would crash from down draft.
With Lieutenant Armstrong, I use the rhino to rush the machine gun nest and then at the same time use the turret to finish it off. It isn’t cost effective but it clears them out then I move rifleman and shocks forward to prevent them from setting up again.
I get a lot of rage quit disconnects like that. The talon is superior for that but I would have to wait to build it if my war factory came out first.

I would see the talon as a little more effective if one isn't using Strongarm; I prefer to use Dr. Liang or Col. Jackson. Talons can easily win against MG nests, and better more, scarabs. For Scarabs, all you have to do is fly at it from a diagonal. MG nests can't shoot air, in fact half of all the units can't shoot air. Only 10% can't shoot ground. Rhinos are just more suited against missile squads, and its competitor, which is the talon.
