Slashed field, can we please not?

An horrible chokepoint map, which heavily rewards tech heavy decks over aggressive ones.

Why is this still in the map pool?

Any other map in my current league works great for my air tower deck, but why the map itself should punish me so heavily?

With the tiberium fields right next to the base, harvester rush is a no-no, meaning fielding 2 is extremely hard to punish, if the opponent focus on defence.

Am I the only one who struggles or despise this particular map?

Please share youe feedback, I'd love to hear others' opinion about this map.

  • If you want to punish double harvester in this map its easy. The only thing you have to do is combine units. For example group attack bikes with flame squads or pitbull with shockwaves. The infantry can tileblock enemy armor from reaching your bikes/pitbull and give you enough time to kill a harvester. If you use jj's just combo them with talons or any of your warfactory units. But remember : No strategy survives too long. You need to adapt to your opponents strategy. If you have a deck that has counters for everything you will win most of the engagements. If for example you have a full air deck with no infantry or warfactory units dont expect to win. Units like missile squads and pitbulls are still used by many players because they are effective against armor. So try using one infantry unit and a pitbull or attack bike. For me stonewall is the worst map in the game. And thats because the map is on the platinum rank. Dont get me wrong i've been on masters and now im on diamond but this map is awfull. Especially when the reset happens. This map is very hard for platinum league. It should be applied to the masters or diamond ranks because of its difficulty.

  • I just played this map and won, with an Aggro deck against a Tech deck, even though I lost the first missile. See the video here: https://youtu.be/HZh_JGekU2M

I guess what you need to do is this:

1.) Attack them early on, especially their double harvesters. Make all hell break loose on them. When they constantly have to deal with your attack, they don't really get around much to occupying the pads, or attacking your base or your harvester. Bring units that are strong against different things, like a Flame/Shocktrooper and a tank or pitbull.

2.) Send a unit to distract them, attacking their base. Like a Shockwave or Flame Trooper. Seth works really good for that. When they deal with this attack, this means that they need to dispatch one of their units. So for the time, that unit cannot occupy a missile pad.

3.) When the final missile is about to fire soon, place your harvester on a missile pad all by its own. Send all of your other units to the other pads.

I cannot consistently win against tech players yet, not by far, but it feels that I am getting slowly nearer towards that goal. :-)

  • No need to punish unless it's really easy to do. Just keep the missile charging all the time.
