So I Just Played Some Mobile Games For The First Time...

I'm a long time PC and console gamer. Mainly PC. Anyway, since I'm not in this C&C: Rivals beta yet I decided to install a bunch of other mobile games the other day while I wait and... It was pretty horrible. The games that I tried that looked cool and looked popular pretty much all played by themselves. I was literally spending 90% of my time clicking pop ups and next buttons. I can't even say I was actually playing a game. i was being level'd up and rewarded constantly. I swear sometimes I was literally being rewarded and leveling up for pushing "next" buttons. The games literally played themselves (the ones I tried) before I realized I was wasting my time.

I see a lot of leveling and rewards in Rivals gameplay videos too... Please keep that to a minimum. Main offending games I'm referring to is "Girls' Frontline" my god it was horrible.

  • The only things limited to player levels in rivals is unit unlocks and the second harvester at level 6. That being said, just because a unit has a high level requirement to unlock, doesn't mean it's overpowered, it just gives you more options.

The problem isn't power level, its accessibility to needed counters. GDI doesn't have any real counter to zone troopers/cyborgs until player level 10 where snipers, which are okay but not great at that, get unlocked, if you're lucky. Also just because you can unlock something doesn't mean you will, I have all but one nod unit but still can't get zone troopers for GDI which most people unlocked very early on. White Metroid doesn't have cyborgs, most of the people you hear complaining about rockworms around here haven't been lucky enough to unlock a counter like Orcas or Zone Troopers either.

Really the game is fun and challenging but the unlock system is not great as it stands given where some things are and the utter randomness of what you do and don't unlock. Really I just want to be able to spend coins to unlock things, I don't see why you have to limit my ability to do that to 3 random things each day that may not be what I need or might be repeats of stuff I already have, the market could easily be a daily discount on 3 things while everything is available (limited by player level) for a higher cost at all times elsewhere, sometimes you just need the answer to something in order to remain competitive.
