People are going to hate me for bringing this this thread back to life but this is an issue that I'm absolutely sick of. I'm getting the exact same error code after crashing mid game (maybe 10 minutes if that). I've disabled Windows Defender, turned off DEP (Data Execution Prevention) entirely. "Tried" to set permissions of folders to "Not read only" but they go right back. Uninstalled, Reinstalled game, reformatted entire drive, fresh install of windows 10 64bit, and increased virtual memory to ungodly amounts (60GB). The game will simply crash if I alt+tab out twice. I used to never have these issues until I picked the game back up recently. I've tried Ultimate edition from origin, The first Decade, and the original retail discs separately. I've even tried my laptop versus two different desktops. Is it an NVIDIA setting? Who knows? Is there an answer out there anybody or a fix? I love this game and I really want to play it. Has there been any updates or recent findings? Thank you for your time.

Same here. I just started playing C&C Zero Hour again after a looong break. I have done all the stuff you have, reinstalled the game through Origin, the first Decade, and old cd. Have you found a fix yet? If I find anything, I'll let you know.

I`ve been having the same issue on and off for years now.
Best game I`ve ever played, When it works that is.
I have tried every fix on the internet multiple times on 3 different pc`s with with different OS.
Its such a random thing. If I reinstall windows chances are it will work absolutely fine for a couple of weeks.

@johnkatepagesWe can't do anything with that crashlog haha. Please completely uninstall and re-install the game to delete any previous applied fixes that might mess with your installation. I assume you're having the Ultimate Collection? Please then follow all these steps under "technical difficulties error/Serious error (Even if you already did in the past!)": https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_Generals#.22Technical_Difficulties.22_error.2FSerious_Error
