@johnkatepagesWe can't do anything with that crashlog haha. Please completely uninstall and re-install the game to delete any previous applied fixes that might mess with your installation. I assume you're having the Ultimate Collection? Please then follow all these steps under "technical difficulties error/Serious error (Even if you already did in the past!)": https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_Generals#.22Technical_Difficulties.22_error.2FSerious_Error
I have done what you said. I have done this lots of times actually with no luck.
I installed windows 7 yesterday to dual boot with windows 10.
Normally a fresh OS install let's the game run for a while but this time the game crashes more or less straight away.

@johnkatepagesYou've really tried all the 4 steps from the link after re-installing the game? Even if you already did that in the past? (Don't skip steps please or it will get very difficult to help you) If yes, please follow these two steps: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Command_%26_Conquer:_Generals#DirectX_8.1_error_.28Windows.29 If that doesn't help: please update your graphics drivers and make sure to run the game with your dedicated graphics card from NVidia or AMD. Does any of this help? This issue doesn't just randomly occur; there is always something causing it. Did you install any mods, modifications or launchers? You are using the Ultimate Collection?
Edit: I updated the options.ini-steps on PCGamingwiki. Please look at those steps again to make sure you got the correct location for options.ini 🙂
