Steam - Invalid Platform Selected (error)

I managed to launch the CnC Remastered, but it froze in loading of first mission, so I had to force-kill the game. After that, whenever I tried to launch the game in Steam, the launcher window appears and when I try to launch either CnC Remastered or CnC RA Remastered, the following error appears:

"Invalid Platform Selected, only Steam and Origin currently supported"

Later, it even got to stage when the it just quietly does not start and does not even show any error.

OS: Win 10, 64-bit, up to date (as of 06/13/2020)

Steam client: Jun 3 2020, up to date (as of 06/13/2020)

Game files: integrity verified

    @johnsmizz hey buddy, could you try to remove and re-install the game?

    also, i remember, that jim had posted on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/commandandconquer/comments/hrrh2y/remaster_update_and_july_beta_patch/

    that, incase, you are unable to launch the game, you can try this workaround:
    we have an experiment you can try:

    Go to your C&C Remastered Collection page on Steam

    Click on the Manage button (gear icon)

    Select Properties

    On the General tab, select “Set Launch Options…”

    In the box, enter “NOSPLASHPRELOAD”

    Click OK and launch the game

    This will effectively revert the texture optimizations we made in the June Patch, and may help performance / stability with certain hardware configurations (This launch option will also work with the standard live branch as well)


    if you still encounter the issue, could you record a small video clip of the issue, so that EA Developers can identify or help you fix the issue. 🙂
