Looks like he was right about people being mad about the reset. I'm seeing posts all over the place now about it.

When competitive game systems see no resets, you get a soft "locked" ladder at the top of highly elite players with no room for new ones. Typically it leads to toxicity and elitism coming down from the top and discouragement working up from the bottom.
Resets are one of the primary tools for keeping people grounded in reality/patient/humble(er). 😉

TBH for me, it just means I got a bunch of free crates based on being in Platinum/Masters, and now I can get a gold crate every level when I level back up!
