I feel like a lot of people here with their bitter post fail to understand one little thing.
It's EA we're dealing with, if we compare Rivals to other mobile games, it's not THAT bad yet. Thing is, the whole mobile gaming is rotten and and sinks into greed. And EA does what it usually does, it milks the hell out of people. And by all means, don't blame devs, they did really good job. If we would take microtransactions away, Rivals is a pretty good game!
But... EA is a company run by stakeholders, and they don't care whenever you like the game, they don't care if it's moral or not. They just employ people and provide them with single goal, to squeeze as much as possible from us. TS.
Now, the only thing we as customers have is a choice. We choose what we do with our money, however this is highly affected by marketers, yet in the end it's us. If you don't like it, don't pay for those ridiculously priced units. Don't pay or don't play. It's the only option here, which is the pitty, because like I said, Rivals seems to be a decent mobile game gameplay-wise.
With recent stock prices dropping on pretty much all huge gaming companies, it's obviously got to a point where they reached a border. It's a border, which only we can draw.
However it comes to a point where I conflict withing myself. Game is done well, devs needs to feed themselves and their families, they deserve a reward for their work. Simple as that. But honestly, I refuse to pay this amount for silly game, not only I don't have such amount to throw at a game I find it wrong. But if EA gives you opportunity to spend that much, it seems like only answer is fact that actually, there are people willing to dump so much money on it. Are these stakeholders themselves? LoL. No clue... but it won't stop until us customers stop to fuel this pathetic greed.
