I wish the titans beam worked more like chain lightning instead of a line titan is very under used and i feel like this would make them more usable with the titans low speed getting into position to ...
I disagree, the Titan is already a monster when it comes to dealing damage. Allowing it's back line shot to arc like a chain lightning effect would make dealing with it much more difficult, the easiest way to take down a Titan (Outside of Air units) is to position your troops properly so they can engage it without a squad taking unnecessary damage. One of the advantages of using the Titan is using it to guard choke points which is rewarding proper positioning such as the opponent is rewarded for positioning his troops correctly for a engagement.
You guys are pretty much suggesting that the Titan should just obliterate any two spaces, that back line shot still does full damage. If it's going to be changed to a chain lightning effect, the damage for additional targets would have to be reduced. We don't need Sandstorm 2.0 that is capable of surviving a direct Ion Cannon blast and has enough health left (Just under half health) over to remain a threat.
Well considering that the nod flame tank obliterates 4 spaces at once i think its pretty modest it would also help out new players into the game as titan starter epic would be more valuable and considering its cost i dont think its too unreasonable cyborgs and zone troopers counter it pretty hard
Flame tank is countered pretty hard by Pitbulls and Attack Bikes (Air too) as well. They're completely different units, with their own strengths and weakness, however if you feel the need to compare the two, in terms of raw damage output and health, the Titan wins because unlike the Flame Tank that has high sustained damage, the Titan has high burst potential on a relatively short trigger. I'd rather not have units of either faction be turned into clones of each other that just look different.
Infantry units for GDI have always been a struggle when compared to playing NOD. NOD has a pretty solid line up of Infantry units that can deal with a wide selection of threats while not being vulnerable to those threats. GDI on the other hand, don't have any close the options NOD does for dealing with infantry, majority of units GDI uses against Infantry deal and take increased damage.
I know GDI have the counters for them, that is why there is such a struggle of GDI vs NOD right now at low levels. Am level 11 right now, so I don't have access to Snipers (I wish did) and haven't drawn the Distruptor yet, who knows when RNG will bless me. Until then, this level restriction BS makes dealing with NOD infantry a massive struggle because GDI lack the options until high levels.
They need to re-vamp their level restrictions, either lower the requirements or shift around what units become unlocked. Until they do that, I stand by GDI lacking the options to deal with NOD infantry due to them not actually being accessible for a extreme majority of this game.
