Unable to play Command and Conquer Generals ONLINE

Okay so i bought the command and conquer when it was and still is on humble bundle but when i try to play online it says Could not connect to Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour online, it says the same thing for the basic Command and Conquer. It asks for me to make an account but it gives me that message.

Generals, Zero Hour, C&C3, Kane's Wrath and Red Alert 3 all used the Gamespy system for their online play, but the whole system has been shut in July last year.

However, community servers have already been set up, so it should be possible to play online that way. More information on that can be found at http://cnc-online.net/
