Can't Connect to EA Servers - "Gamer Profile Does Not Have the Correct Permissions"

I can't connect to the EA servers in Dead Space 3. Whenever I try, I get the message: "Your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox Live functionality."

I've looked around a lot to try and correct this problem and can say that the following things have been tried and did not work:
- My internet connection is fine.
- Some places said privacy settings could cause connection problems. My privacy settings are fine, they are allowing everything.
- I am old enough to play the game and the birth date on my Xbox Live profile is correct.
- I have the online pass downloaded. I was even able to get all the limited edition unlocks.
- I can not say for sure, but I seem to recall it connecting fine when I first started playing, but for the past couple weeks it has not.
- I do not have a Gold account right now, only Silver. However, I am not trying to play multiplayer. I am only trying to buy parts packs with meal tickets, but it won't even let me connect to the servers. I should be able to at least connect, even with Silver.
- I put Mass Effect 3 into the console to check and I can connect to the EA servers fine through Mass Effect 3. It is only Dead space 3 that is not working.

When I first loaded the game, it asked about an Origin account.  I didn't know if I had one, so just skipped that part. While in game, I try to connect to the EA servers and get the following error:

"your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access xbox live functionality"

I am most definitely connected to xbox live

I dug up my old EA account, installed the Origin software on my pc, 'added friends' to sync my xbox account

i downloaded an EA demo game, did the whole sign into Origin process (with the hopes that this game would see that) - but I did delete the demo game before I tried to sign back in with this game

I have no parental controls on my xbox

    I downloaded the Online Pass

I tried everything I could think of but am still getting this message.  This prevents me from getting online to play co-op and anything else.

Any ideas?  Is there a way to reset the game mechanics so it prompts me to attach my Origin's accnt to the game?

This is getting very frustrating.  Any and all help or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks.

Good call, I forgot to mention that.  Yes, I did do that and all the suits are opened up for me in the kiosk.

I am in the same situation, however my region is in Singapore,i couldnt start co-op campaign, only able to play solo ☹️

  • When I try to connect to the EA Servers it tells me "Your gamer profile does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox Live functionality." Also when I tried to buy a material pack from the DLC option at a workbench it tells me "You are not connected to the EA servers. Any purchased resource packs will only be applied to the current save file. Do you wish to continue?" I hit yes and then when I try to purchase a resource pack it tells me "You need to be connected to Xbox Live(which I am) and EA Servers to access the online features of this title." I already activated the online pass that came with the retail copy of the game that I purchased so why won't this work?

I have joined X-Box Live Gold. I have entered my redeemable online pass code, and purchased a new online pass when that didn't work. I keep getting the same message: "Your Gamer Profile does not have the correct permissions to access Xbox live functionality." I am posting here because Microsoft has no idea what is going on, and redirected me to you geniuses. Now, having spent the last hour navigating yours and Microsoft's convoluted online purchase systems and counter-intuitive graphic-based search engines, I would love to have an explanation as to how I might perhaps play the game I paid for. If that's not too much trouble.

Is there no fix for this? Is there some way I can actually email EA support directly so that some sort of progress can be made on my issue?

I got Kingdoms of Amalur and have no problems connecting to the servers in that game either, but I STILL have the same problem in Dead Space 3.

Just sorted it, you need a gold membership to access it, that is all it boils down to, its a kick in the balls but that is all the problem needs to be fixed.
