Does anyone actually read these forums other than the gamers? I have the same issue and have tried all the same things to get round it but nope. Now stuck.
It's nearly impossible to get around it, you have to preemptively keep it from happening. I tested a second method that works and if you let the hunter follow you through each room until the security station, it should despawn and you can continue as intended. Otherwise, you're stuck going to a previous save before you've met the hunter or restarting completely. Or waiting for a patch.
