Hello.
Basically I believe my recently bought and installed version of Dead Space 1 on origin is glitched.
The problem:
I'm only 20-30 minutes into the game. The enemies in the game are taking an abnormal amount of damage before dying. On Hard difficulty it will generally take at least 10-12 plasma cutter rounds before one of these initial enemies dies. Considering I can't even buy ammo at this point I just run out before I can make any kind of progress. Additionally I'm not just hitting the body, I'm hitting all the limbs and the head and they still survive. And ground stomps seem to make little to no difference to the situation even when combined with stasis.
An additional problem I have noticed is that upon loading into a save from a fresh startup of the game I will immediately die and be respawned. Furthermore this occurred during the opening cinematic of the game before I could even move meaning I had to go through the cinematic several times before I could actually start the game.
The Proof:
I know at this point it's not just a case of me not playing the game properly. I have watched several walkthroughs of varying difficulties (Medium, Hard, Impossible) and on all of them it appears much easier to kill enemies than it does on my game. Even if I follow the exact movements of people in these walkthroughs I can not kill the necromorphs anywhere near as easily, even on Medium difficulty.
Furthermore I transferred my saves onto a friends computer who has a steam version of the game installed, played through the same areas and there was a drastic difference. It took at least half the amount of rounds to kill each enemy on the same difficulty with the same save with me playing the game. I can't think of anything I can do myself to fix this, I have even reinstalled the game with no luck.
_____________
This seems like an almost impossible issue as I haven't been able to find anyone on forums with the same problem.
Any assistance will be appreciated. I will upload a video if it comes to it as proof.
Regards.
