Dead Space 3 Audio cuts from headphones to speakers
Playing Dead Space 3, when I load a saved game while using headphones (connected via headphone jack, NOT usb). The sounds stop coming through the headphones (Sounds while in start menu's are fine), the moment the game loads. Sound is instead being pumped through my speakers.

I actually found a fix shortl after I posted this, just make sure your headphones aren't set to "default communication device" and that headphones and speakers are the all around default, that fixed it for me.
Hi, I just downloaded the game, and while navigating the menus, I don't have any problem witht the headphones, but as soon as the game starts, it switches to my laptop speakers. I'm using Windows 7 and my computer is an HP Pavillon dv6 Notebook PC. Hope you can help me.
Right click on sound icon in the lower right corner-> click "Playback Devices" -> Right click on "Communications Headphones" in the new pane -> hit disable.
I have the exact same problem with my system. Sound comes through headset all the way through menus, just cuts to speakers when game loads. This was my sim city apology game and now I have another game that doesn't work as it should.
This is a slightly unusual issue. Could you please post your full Dxdiag file so the community can see what audio hardware you use and may be able to suggest steps to take. Have you ever seen this issue occur in any other game?
I have the same problem. I already reported it in the sticky thread about a week ago, but never got a response.
I get audio through my headphones in the menu and the intro movie, but as soon as the playable part of the game starts, my headphones stop playing audio, and it comes out through my laptop speakers instead. Unplugging my headphones and plugging them back in will get me sound through my headphones for 1 second, then it switches back to the laptop speakers.
My headphones are set as default in my audio drivers. I can play other games, watch movies, youtube videos, play music, etc, with my headphones with no problems. I've tried playing for a while, saving, quitting the game and restarting. Once again, audio plays fine through my headphones in the menu, but as soon as I click to start the game my headphones go dead and the sound comes out through my laptop speakers instead.
This makes this game more or less useless to me, I'm trying to play in an area where others don't want to overhear me playing, plus my laptop speakers are horrible (HP Beats audio, what a joke).
Thank you for posting the requested information and more besides. The line "Fault bucket -762233134, type 5" leads me to believe you may have a corrupted system file somewhere. Please use the Microsoft System File Checker to find and possibly repair damaged system files.
Do post again if the problem continues after completing this.
I just installed dead space 3 and was playing with a friend, the audio works fine on my headphones until i get into the co op lobby, then the game audio goes from my headset and goes through the speakers on my laptop, but when my friend is talking it comes through the headset and thats it.
im using turtle beach x11 headset
