Dead Space 3 Save Problem

It drove me crazy but I have solved it now. You need to start the game normally, load your saved game, when its loaded  

completely (Ready for play) ALT+TAB , goto your Documents/EA Games/Dead Space 3 folder and rename the DeadSpace 

3 saved game like "ds3_v1_slot_01.sav1" - The game wll create a new save when the save point reaches with the right save

point.

Do this for every checkpoint reached.

This is absolute horse**bleep**. Same issue here, same place as many here: Chapter 5, fighting off the horde while waiting for the tram. I've played it three times now and got WELL into chapter 6, only to find I'm still running from the indestructible morpher, WAITING FOR THAT **bleep**ING TRAM. FIX IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another issue here.. exactly the same, on PS3, chapter 5 waiting for the tram.  Given up until a patch arrives. If a patch arrives.

You completely lost me here, if I read your explanation right, you still have to play till the point you correctly saved? So how does that fix anything?

Example: I did Conning Tower extra mission last night, reached a checkpoint after completing it, saved and quitted. Today I loaded back in to find me back to the tram station before Conning Tower, so precisely how can I avoid running it again following your steps?

I got past that on one of my usernames. You have to wait till you get to the next progress saving point in the aft section for it to recognize that the conning tower mission is done. consider yourself lucky if you can make it back on the tram without it freezing. My game froze 3 times on the final elevator ride after "completeing " the conning tower mission. never made it to the tram. 4th time worked. now i am forever doomed on level 17. can't get past it without freezing

Does anybody from EA monitor these boards? C'mon now I....WE..need a resolution to this NOW!   God, I know all of us here are not stupid, we know what saving a game is supposed to do, how it's supposed to work, but this is insane!  As for the more arrogant among us who state that "There's nothing wrong, it works nomally by saving your inventory" That's a bunch of BS also because if you have to play a level again you still need to get all of the items particular to that level/chapter.

Listen, you use "save + quit" and that's what it SHOULD do! Save and quit, It should save the game exactly where you choose to save it and when you load it, you load (drum roll please) exactly where you left off.  EA/Origin, whoever the heck you guys now are, you NEED to issue a fix for this NOW! I'm not playing this anymore, because I don't feel like pissing away hours of my time for nothing. What are we supposed to do? Start the game and never shut it off? Leave the console on all week so we won't lose any progress?  Just man up to the problem and say "ok we''ll issue a patch/fix"  EA needs to up it's game and support it's product, this is nonsense.  I'm upset and I'm sure many of us are super pissed about  this. Just have a rep from EA get on this board and tell us that "Yes we know of the problem. oops! our bad! But wer'e working to fix it" 

Thing is I know I'm not crazy, I know how a save game is supposed to work, I don't care about the autosave, that's another thing in itself but when I choose to "save" when exiting a game I know what it's supposed to **bleep** well do, like any other game I've ever played in my entire life, so don't insult my intelligence and tell me what's going on with this game is normal that this is the way it's supposed to work. Uh no it isn't but you there at EA already knew that, didn't you?

Psn plus allows cloud storage of save files (which i have) but i have been copying the saves to a flash drive after every successful progress saving point. I know what you just said . ignore bigant007.  some genius at EA decided that we need an "inventory saving" quit feature.  I have found that you have to wait till you see a 'progress saving icon- then do your own save. Also- clicking on continue game is NOT the same as loading your last save. My biigest issue is the freezing and corrupted save files. My game is being returned to EA tomorrow and they are sending me a new one but I am not going to bother loading it or trying to play this game anymore till a fix is issued. And no- I do not think anyone from EA ever reads these boards. Just seems to make people feel better to vent.
