There are a couple things that can cause this and this is what immediately comes to mind.
Is your computer connected to the internet through a router? Has anyone ever configured ports (port forwarding) on the router to host other games? If so, you may need to disable those port forwards.
If you are on a shared connection, such as an office connection or school dorm, you may have issues if those ports are already in use by another computer on the network.
You may also need to check if your Antivirus software includes its own software firewall and disable that as well.
I'm not sure if that helps, but its a start.
Why on earth are you talking about enabling ports and * on routers it should be http or https. Why on earth would you need to do all this useless stuff when all people want to do is play a game. Origin has been * from the start. Where can I get a refund for my Origin games that I cannot play?

Fresh install, Turned off all firewalls disabled antivirus and ports are free on Router. Everyone seems to be having activation issues from the very start of origin for many many years. What on earth are you people doing? can you not do anything right! As a developer I am appalled at the standards of such a long standing company. It's a joke of a company e.a we ruin everything! My Grandmother could write an activation process better with a spoon and fork. Sort it out pile of Junk!
