Do I lose items when I replay a Chapter?

I'm up too Chapter 2 but I want to replay the prologue and get the artifact. But what I want to know is Will I lose my items if I do this? like any weapons I constructed or med kits I've picked up.

Will everything in my inventory vanish?

    Do not be worried. Just reply those chapters through chapters select, let the game save your progress and then load your chapter 5 and continue playing. If I remember well, your stuff should stay in your inventory.

    For the record, it's just chapter 5, Dead Space 3 has 19 chapters + Awekened, so it's not a big lost now, even if you playing hardcore mode. It's maybe 1,5 hour of playing from beginning, therefore take it easy.

    Or if you still worried about your progress, go to your documents file, find EA games file with Dead Space 3, do copy of your save game and put it somewhere else. If all goes wrong this should help you to keep your save intact.

    Hello,

    I'm not sure about this, but you can always use a chapter select, go through Prolog, take your artifact and continue to the next save point, then you can just exit the game and artifact will still count to you collectibles and then you can continue your game from chapter two.

    Well I'm at Chapter 5 now and I'm worried about losing my med-kits and ammo if I reply the prologue and chapter 2

    I tried it anyway and the prologue you have nothing in your inventory only the starting gun and no resources

    But when you replay Chapter 1 you have every thing.. Your custom weapons and resources
