[EA app] Dead Space 2 does not Launch

Hi, I can't start Dead Space 2 via EA-Launcher. I get the following error message: "Your game failed to launch. An error on our end caused your launch to fail. Try again a little later."

I am in contact with EA-Support for a week now and all im getting is, what feels to me, time-stalling on their part. I ve basically given up. I found this: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Other-Dead-Space-Games/Old-Report-Dead-Space-2-won-t-launch-from-EA-App/m-p/12408032/highlight/true#M17154

But so far Ea didn't try to renew my licence, allthough I asked them to multiple times. Just for clarification: I did all the stuff like uninstalling the game, launcher, clearing cache and so on.

@12121221221 Thanks, so here is what I would first recommend trying

EA App's Cache (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)

    Delete Windows Temp Files

    • First, make sure you close as many programs as you can
    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer
    • Type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete
    • Reboot the PC

    Optional Registry clean-up

    • install CCleaner (it's free) from here
    • Run Registry cleaner
    • Click review selected issues
    • Do you want to back up? No
    • Click Fix all selected issues
    • Make sure the EA app or other launcher is closed.
    • Press the Windows key and "R" at the same time.
    • Type or copy and paste "%ProgramData%
    • Navigate to Electronic Arts\EA Services
    • In the license folder, you can delete all the files

@12121221221 This error is tough because rarely is it the same reason why it happens for each player. It could be a license issue but it could be a permissions issue in Windows. Can you let me know which of the following you have tried that way you aren't repeating steps that didn't work.

    Cleared the EA app cache?

    Did you repair the game?

Install the game and EA app on the same drive?

    Run as admin?

Delete all files within the license folder.

  • Cleared the EA app cache?

    >> Yes.

    Did you repair the game?

    >> No. But I reinstalled it.

Install the game and EA app on the same drive?

    >> Yes.

    Run as admin?

    >> Haven't tested.

Delete all files within the license folder.

    >> Haven't tested.

Thanks for your reply. It's been two weeks now, by now I uninstalled the game and have just finished a complete playthrough on my brothers steam-account. I'm done with it.

Doesn't help, the game still refuse to start.

  • Hi

    same situation for me.

I try to find a workaround without a success : there's a product key in the game properties but no way to apply it ☹️.

And it's a shame that the Community manager close each time this topic (several ones opened and closed without a solution nor escalation to EA technical team)
