Haven't found anything in terms of being able to change which input it uses, or setting up push to talk etc, but here's how to disable it. You'll need to do that every time you play, however.

Thats some good irony - they advertise the ability for friends to join Co-Op at any time, but to do something as simple as muting a mic you need to form the full group in the lobby.
That works though - always had my friend join me as I was playing so it makes sense why I never see this option.
