-When did the Bug occur?
Right after I completed the final optional mission on Chapter 17 on my way up the elevator.
-What did you do before you experienced the Bug?
Nothing besides kill a few uber morphs and go up the elevator out of the Artifact Storage. It always crashes my Xbox and I have to reset it so I have been unable to complete all optional missions and get the suit and MKII gear. This always happens no matter what, in solo and co-op. Gave up with even playing the game after this.
-What did you expect to happen?
To go up the elevator, have all optional missions complete, get my unlocked suit and MKII gear and complete the rest of the game in style.
can't tell you how many posts i have on this topic in this and other threads. short story is 4 different ps3 consoles, 3 different dead space 3 discs, 4 different user id names. ALL crashed and froze. mostly on the elevator rides out of the optional missions- single or 2 player. EA finally gave me a credit to get the download version from the Playstation store. Finished the game on all levels- all dificulty settings with no problem. They had me try all sorts of "fixes". disabling the internet connection got me past the conning tower mission but failed on the snow level optional mission. deleting the GAME DATA file, disconnect the internet, load original, un updated version got me to your level 17. Got my platinum and foam finger playing the download version. EA worldwide customer service has told me that there will be NO update or patch for this game. Probably why you can get new, sealed games for under $20 and used ones for $6 on ebay.
btw i am playing on a PS3 incase you missed that. check out the complaints from those that got the $10 download PC version
