Stuttering/low fps when streaming Dead Space Remake

Hello!

I'm currently experiencing issues with streaming Dead Space Remake to Twitch via OBS. When I'm not streaming, I can run the game at 1440p max settings with DLSS set to Quality and experience minimal stuttering and average 80-100 FPS. When I stream, the game stutters a lot more (especially during cutscenes) and I average 30-40 FPS. Most interestingly, there will be periods of time where my framerate will jump back up to that 80 FPS area, but eventually some in game event will tank the framerate and stay at that low range continuously. Adjusting the in game settings, even down to low, does not seem to substantially improve the situation.

In OBS, when using NVENC encoding, the encoder will get overloaded and the stream will stutter significantly. Switching to x264 encoding makes the stream run smoother but I'm still experiencing the previously mentioned issues. Lowering the output resolution from 1080p to 720p alleviated the issues a little bit but not substantially.

My specs:

  • CPU: i7-8700k
  • RAM: 32 GB DDR4
  • GPU: EVGA RTX 3070 FTW3 Ultra Gaming
  • Storage: 1 TB (2 x 500 GB RAID 0) Samsung 850 EVO SATA SSD

I was wondering if this is a known issue and/or are there additional steps I can take to improve performance while I'm streaming? I'm thoroughly enjoying the game and really want to stream it, but the significantly reduced and inconsistent performance is making that difficult.

Thank you for any and all help!

  • I thought something weird was going on when I tried streaming during launch!

No matter my settings, my bitrate would drop to 0 at around the 1 hour mark like clockwork. Sometimes even less. I'd have to force quit Streamlabs just to exit the program then stop the processes in the task manager if I wanted to open Streamlabs again.

The same thing used to happen with some games, but definitely not as often. I could never pinpoint what would drop my bitrate to 0. Also, sometimes my Xbox controller would disconnect at the same time the bitrate dies, which is a really odd coincidence. In all instances, however, my internet connection would be fine, the game unaffected, Streamlabs and chat still running, just can't end the stream without force quitting...

Anyway, I haven't tried streaming Dead Space since launch. Not sure if anything's changed. But maybe it has something to do with... DRM? I've spent so much time looking for solutions but haven't found any.

  • Buffering, lag, freezing, input delay when lagging, crashing, map not loading, etc.....

    Specs:

    CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor 3.70 GHz

GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT

    RAM: 32GB ddr4

    DISC: Lexar SSD NM620 1TB

GAME SETTINGS: HIGH (Ultra has more bugs and crashes)

This game is poorly optimized. Avatar: FoP runs on high-ultra 251.1 average fps, no bugs or crashes. RE4 remake runs perfectly on high fps. Other games run great as well.

Also its not letting me post a recording of said lag and freezes...

Feels like a rip off... Unplayable... No one wants to play a remake of the game on low settings... anything under high is just like the old game... People diserve a refund regardless of how they got the game, how long they had it for, how long they played it for, etc...
