This app cannot run under a virtual machine

When I start Dead Space 3, I get an error saying "Sorry, this application connot run under a Virtual Machine"

I am definitely not running the game in a VM

These are the following remedies I tried:

Starting Windows in Safe Mode

Compatibility Mode - Adjusted for Windows 7

Repair the game

My Specs:

OS : Windows 8.1 Pro

RAM : 8GB

HDD: 5400RPM

Processor: intel i5

Graphics: Intel HD 4000

What i cannot try:

Removing Hyper-v

Disabling Hardware assisted virtualisation

(Becase it is necessary for my work)

Anyone got any clue, need some help on this one.

The hardware assisted virtualisation is most likely the virtual machine the error message refers to. You will probably be unable to play without disabling that.
