Xbox series X Dolby Atmos audio cutouts

Hey guys,

Just bought new Dead Space Remake on Xbox Series X. Got a Sony HT-ST5000 and a Samsung 85" Qn95b TV. Got the soundbar connected via eARC to the TV and the HDMI from Xbox directly 8nto the TV for full graphic fidelity. Xbox Series X audio setup for full dolby Atmos for home theater. Also in the audio options > additional options I check the box for "Allow Pass through".

The demo to test works flawlessly at the beginning of the video. So it doesn't look to be a system related audio issue to me. Once I launch dead Space though, the audio cuts out tremendously and often making the experience terrible. The demo here doesn't make it seem too bad but there are moments when I completely lose audio for 1-3 whole seconds.

The link below is to a YouTube video I took with my phone and you can see my settings and then see my audio issues. It's noticeable right around the 3:00 min mark but you'll notice it as I continue the demo. Sometimes you need to listen closely, but you'll notice it.

Can this be fixed? I went to add a bug report to EA to get it fixed but the site sent me here instead. I think this needs to be patched.

Thanks

Johnnie

  • Actually, it turns out that this is a widely known issue with thr Xbox and NOT Dead Space. Do you guys have any insight as to why 120Hz/4K causes Atmos issues like this? It's even stated in the Dolby Atmos website that both Microsoft and Dolby are both aware of the issue but it's been a problem for far too long. Meaning it should've been fixed by now and it hasn't been.
