Activation reset after the new patch

I have been playing Dragon Age: Inquisition quite happily for two weeks, when I see a large patch come though.

Upon exiting the game and running the patch, I received the error "We are unable to connect to EA servers to activate ..."

I am not amused. Waiting 24 hours then 48 hours and I am still unable to play the game that has had me captivated for over 100 hours so far.

I would hate to not know what happens to my character and I have so much more to do in the world -- please don't do this to me guys!

Finally my game activated today. Unsure if it was due to removing workarounds or just something EA fixed on their side.

The workaround I removed was in GPEdit.msc -> Local Computer Policy -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> SSL Configuration Settings -> SSL Cipher Suite Order. Specifically I set it to Not Configured from the list given on the Microsoft KB page (can't find it now however.)

Either way the log file now looks like this and the game works.
