So I encountered a quest-breaking bug (that, from what I read, potentially breaks the whole quest chain in Exalted Plains). There is a wounded chevalier in the trenches area of the map, and I can't talk to him. When I press A the conversation doesn't trigger at all. I googled a bit and it seems a couple of people had this problem as well.
Any way to force the quest stage in the console or something?
Community AdminAre you playing with a VO language other than English? I actually tested this recently after seeing other reports and it worked fine for me. If you save and reload at that spot, does it make any difference?

I play with English VO. If I save and reload at the same spot, it still doesn't work(I showcase that in the video). Also after I press A to talk to the soldier the game blocks my ability to switch characters. Here's a short video I made, it's only one minute long and shows off the bug, I hope you can watch it:
Community AdminThanks for the video, that's very clear. It seems to be stuck in a quasi-conversation state. If you try running in and standing around for a little bit(say, 30 seconds?) then try to initiate the conversation, does that have any effect?
If you're on PC, can you try turning down your graphics settings, then restart and check again?
Unfortunately none of your suggestions worked. I stayed around in the room for around 3 minutes or so, no dice. I also tried playing with everything on low, but that didn't work either.
I'm not sure if that's important or not, but when I talked to the soldier for the very first time, it worked- the soldier started talking- but then a Shade came into the room and it caused the conversation to end, and since then I cannot start it again. Perhaps that's a glitch in scripting?
And yes, I'm playing the PC version if that changes anything.
From what I can tell it is cause you got interupted, on repeated tries on my playthroughs if somethings stops me from talking while we started with that quest, I couldn't get it to work after.
Community AdminThat certainly sounds like it's a factor alright. I noticed a similar issue elsewhere with a shade questgiver in Old Crestwood. Thanks for the extra details.
I have had this issue for over a week now. It occured for me when I talked to the Chevalier and he died, I then loaded a quicksave from before the conversation to pick a different option and now the chevalier is alive on the floor and has the X button over him, but nothing allows me to actually start the dialogue with him. The quest marker remains on the map. Have tried reloading and leaving area several times.
