After an autosave, the game starts lagging

Hello, I would appreciate your help. This issue is really annoying and I am very upset with the game developers.

Three months ago I bought the DAI with all DLCs. I was very excited to play. I tried the game on my friends old computer, who had a CD that I could borrow. Due to great performance, I decided to buy the game. That is when the problems started.

After an autosave, the game starts lagging and stuttering. It is very annoying and makes the game unplayable. I have a brand new computer with the latest NVIDIA drivers and a very good graphics card . When I bought it, I made sure that all the games I like will be playable and according to the game specifications, my computer exceeds them by far. I have no idea, why the game won't play as it should. My friend's game on CD had no glitches or lagging.

I tried every available solution I found on the internet - disabling Origin overlay (made no difference), adjusted FPS, did a clean install of the game and drivers twice. I adjusted all the settings to low, made sure the game runs on the NVIDIA GPU etc. I have no idea, what to do next. I am extremely unsatisfied with my game performance and I feel that I have wasted my money on this game.

Any help would be appreciated.

@zalako I suggested lowering the settings to see if it helped. If it doesn't, then that likely isn't the problem, especially if it starts happening only after auto saving, which hints more at a hard drive issue. Was worth checking, anyway, since so many issues with this game on PC are caused by the graphics, even if they seem unrelated.

The game has changed since you played it about a year ago. It's likely your computer has, too.

I can't remember, is there an option in the game to disable autosave? It might be a pain, especially if you crash/die in a place where you haven't been able to manually save in a while, but if you can disable it it's worth a try to see if it stops the lag. Not sure it's an option, though.
