All AMD system unable to play Dragon Age with DirectX

Greetings,

Ever since the game has launched I have been unable to play the game at all using DirectX.  I can play any other game out there but for some reason I get maybe 2 or 3 seconds of actually game play before the game locks up and crashes.  If I switch to Mantle I can play the game for hourse on end.

List of issues I am seeing at this time.

DirextX

  • Instability under DirectX
  • 5 to 10 second of game play before crash

Mantle

  • Mouse flickering
  • Memory leak and loose of frame rate after time
  • Game vanishes, not listed in task manager, locate in processes and kill to get back in

MotherBoard:  Asus AMD Crosshair V Formula-Z

Memory:  Corsair Vengence 16GB

CPU:        AMD FX-9590

HardDrive: Cruicial M500

Video card: XFX R9-290X ENFC

Cooling:  Updated water cooler for CPU

Windows 7 Professional x64

AMD catalyst package 14.12

Display Driver 14.5001.1003

Hum, no responses to this.  Not good.  I've quit playing the game.  If you can fix this thing maybe I will return.  This is horrible.

Is the card overclocked, even with a stock overclock? If so, turn it down.

On DX, do you get a message when you crash?

If you haven't done so already run a repair on the game client. You can get this option by right-clicking the game in Origin.

  • My problem is along the smae lines,  I have an AMD system, but I have no problem running the game in general I have played for a few days now ( I,m New) but I do have a problem with the DirectX only when I try to use the Scryer, skull thingie in the cave by the waterfalls got the error and game shut down three times in a row and finaly just moved on. who needs crystals shards anyway?  So far I have not had a problem with the skulls above ground ( of course I have only found one of them so far. I have the following.

        Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. M68MT-S2 (Socket M2)    37 °C
    Graphics
        Acer V223W (1680x1050@60Hz)
1024MB AMD Radeon HD 6670 (Gigabyte)
    Hard Drives
        1863GB Hitachi HDS5C3020ALA SCSI Disk Device (SATA)    39 °C
