"App timed out" Error when trying to start up Dragon Age: Inquisition from steam

As stated in my topic. Whenever I try and start up "Dragon Age: Inquisition" from my steam library, a progress bar pops up for a few seconds (less than 5) before it gives the error message "App Timed out" and says that the server is not working. I have attached a screenshot of the error message. Any help would be much appreciated.

EDIT:

SOLVED

SOLUTION: My steam account was linked to a deleted EA account, when steam launched the game, the EA server was rejecting the login attempt and returning the error. I was able to unlink my steam account from that deleted account and link it to my new one, and steam started the game without issue.

EVERYTHING ELSE I TRIED

I contacted EA support and wanted to add what we tried, unsuccessfully, to this message.

  1. We tried re-downloading both the game and the EA app.
  2. We tried fiddling with my DNS settings (specifically trying to use 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
  3. We checked my firewall and anti-virus and whitelisted all EA services therein.

This is everything I've tried based on the discussions here:

  1. Opening EA app as an admin and then attempting to open the game in steam.
  2. Downloading another EA game (specifically Dragon Age II) as a test. Faced the same problem again.

That's everything I've tried so far, any help would be appreciated.

  • SOLUTION:

Steam account was linked to deleted EA account. EA support was very helpful and helped unlink my steam account and I was able to link it to my current one. Steam then could run the games without issue.

Hey there, I noticed in the screenshot that EA App is logged out in the background. Does it automatically log you out after the error message comes up?

Have you tried running EA App as admin, keeping your account logged in, and then launching the game on Steam?

  • Sorry that I am only just now getting back to you. I am actually logged in on my EA app, the error still looks like that for some reason.  I tried running the app as an admin while opening the game as you suggested and it did not change the result. I also downloaded another EA game on steam, "Dragon Age II," as a test and I encountered the same problem.
