Are Dragon Age 2'saved games in the cloud?

Hello,

I recently had a computer dying on me so I got a new one. Promptly reinstalled Dragon Age 2 and trusted that the cloud saves would have been available to me. Surprisingly, Origin isn't downloading any save game apparently and I can only start a new game. Is this behaviour supposed to be normal? I am really surprised, I'd think the whole point of a cloud storage for saved games is to prevent the possibility of losing them.

Am I missing something? How can I recover my saved games that are supposedly in the Origin cloud?
