Blurry cutscenes, Depth of field problem, DOF

Okay, so here's a thing: we all know that DoF in the game is incredibly frustrating smts. In some cutscenes your character just stays blurry all the time, in onthers - full scenes are completely blurred. To say it's annoying is to say nothing.

  • And I actually posted this question to answer it immediately myself, since I kinda found what worked for me to fix it.

    - Open console (press the ~ (tilde) key)

    - type: postprocess.dofmethod dofmethod_gaussian or postprocess.dofmethod dofmethod_sprite

see how dof changes for you between those two settings. I've read that for some sprite one works better, for me, personally, gaussian one works nice

The best way to see the difference is at the War Table, actually. (Or in the middle of a cutscene where it stops so you can choose an answer). With the War table: make Cullen finish some operation there, open the finished task to recieve your reward. In my case Cullen was always super blurry in that shot. But then I used this concole command and it changed nicely. Here are a two shots for comparison from the War table (i turned off UI).

And if I am allowed to post links here. A link to my google photos album with these two shots in png AND two shots from Blackwall's cutscene in Skyhold for comparison. It maybe is just more convenient to view this way: https://photos.app.goo.gl/XL6sw6KScYMJiPzG6

  • Oh. I must also add that it kinda helps a bit with armour and metal being too shiny - it's easy to see on War Table shots, on Cullen's armor. Important thing since I searched for this solution as well and didn't find much
