Inquisition loads, but graphics bugs / can't play

Dragon Age Inquisition on my laptop which is definitely up to snuff (it plays Vanguard without any issues) will let me make a character. Once I go into the opening FMV where MC is in a prison cell, Cassandra appears as a floating sword (she's entirely missing, though I can still hear her talk). Once the opening cutscene is over my character appears in front of town entrance but aside from being able to rotate the map I am unable to do anything else.

I've reduced all graphics textures to low, reinstalled the game and run as admin. Nothing helps. Please assist!
