@emenyspotted Many CPUs come with integrated graphics, I believe Gorath was pointing out that, should you get a new CPU, the game may still not run (or run well) if you do not also have a separate graphics card. The CPU you're looking at has integrated graphics, if you plan on only using that instead of using a proper GPU, you may still have problems running the game, intel graphics do not meet the minimum system requirements, though some people do manage to run the game on them (though once Trespasser came out many seemed to have trouble running the game with Intel graphics).

On its own, with a proper GPU (that meets/exceeds system requirements), the CPU looks like it should have no trouble running the game.

I have run DA:I on four different processors: A Xeon E5620, an i5-3570K, a mobile i5-2520M and a mobile i7-2740M. DA:I ran on all 4 processors without issue. The mobile processors are dual-core, hyperthreaded CPUs just like your i3. That's why I'm really puzzled as to why the game won't run on your desktop i3. AFAIK, as long as you have at least four logical processors, the game should run.

That said, the game runs great on my slightly overclocked i5-3570K with a Nvidia Quadro FX 3800 (and previously a GTX 670.) Before you invest in a new processor, though, I'd try investigating further why your i3 won't run the game.

@Jhelzei Thanks for the info. I tried troubleshooting for 3 days until the EA adviser I was in communication with informed me that the game has been so heavily patched since launch that my CPU can't run it anymore. I believe it was because of the physical number of cores it possesses -- it's technically a quad core with four threads but only two actual physical cores exist. It was a very frustrating process and definitely more so because I could run the game fine until reasons outside my control made it so I couldn't. At least I know now. I hope this information helps someone else who may be in a similar situation.

  Update -- just in case this helps someone else. Since I could run the game before, changing the game properties to make it run in compatibility mode, then repairing it through Origin, restarting my computer, temporarily disabling my antivirus, and running in windowed mode made it run again. Yay!
