Can not load ANY Forbidden Oasis saves

UPDATE:
Decided to try to load before going into Forbidden Oasis and it was alright. However, if I go to the area and make a NEW save, it too can not be loaded and crashes the game. Basically this means that I have to complete an entire area in one go without save/loading. Which is a massive inconvenience.
What is the problem with Forbidden Oasis?
Hope this doesn't happen to other areas in the game, it is incredibly bad.
