Cannot run Inquisition PC

I'm having the problem where I try to open the game and it appears as it is going to open in a window then after a moment looks as if it is going to full screen. Then nothing, it crashes and brings me back to the desktop. There is no error message or anything. I've been reading posts of people who've had this problem, but I'm lost in the technical jargon. I "can you run this" to inquisition.... it said no but it said i couldnt have run other things i have run on this computer. I was able to play both DA:O and DA2 on this computer and would like to continue the series as such. What can I do to make this Start???? I honestly don't care if it runs smooth. I just want it to play.

I've tried doing this:

Please install all available Important Windows Updates and then all four of these:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\vc\vc2008sp1\redist\vcredist_x64.exe

and this:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\directx\redist\DXSETUP.exe

...then reboot and retry.

You do not have a game quality machine.  This is a high intensity program that requires a powerful system to run, and you do not have such a PC at all.  Just as an example, your machine is so inexpensive that it does not even have any video graphics card at all, only an integrated Intel chip:

    ---------------
    Display Devices
    ---------------
"Card" name: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family
           Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip type: Intel(R) HD Graphics Family

    Minimum PC Specs

        OS: Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64-bit
        CPU: AMD quad-core CPU @2.5 GHz / Intel quad-core CPU @2.0 GHz
        System RAM: 4 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 4870 / NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
        Graphics Card Memory: 512 MB
        Hard Drive Space: 26 GB
        DirectX 10

  • So is there absolutely no hope of ever being able to run it on this computer no matter how sloppy?

That's like trying to pretend that a Happy Meal is a Porterhouse streak with all the trimmings -- it's just not going to fly.

I suggest you go to cyberpowerpc.com and get yourself a nice gaming PC for $1600-2000........I have 2.80 Ghz processor (max turbo 3.8 Ghz)....16GB ram....6GB video card...17" screen........and the game runs like a charm..........never had any technical issues.
