I'm having trouble to break through stone walls with bashable areas, my main character can break wooden doors and the red lyrium for Varric's quest without problems, but I tried several times with stone walls without sucess, both the one in Redcliffe castle and the one in the Flooded caves in Crestwood.
Thanks for the answers, I was using the Shield Bash skill, which works in wooden doors, and wasn't aware of using right-click to break said walls, much easier now

Excellent, my newly started tanky Dwarf Inquisitior will now be even less subtle.

Hate to bump this but I just got the game on xbox one. I'm having the same issue and I can't interact, bash, or glitch it. Does that mean I am SOL?
You should have to use a warrior to do the bashing, and you use the action key and not actually attacking. If this is what you are doing, then it may be a glitch, otherwise you may just not be doing something right.
